Thanks all - reuploading the writeInstinct.ino and running those processes appears to have resolved it. Sorry - must have been through that step 10 + times, but something was awry. I now have a working Bittle - very cool!!

This was my thought too, but yes the battery is connected and charged. I have tested it and get audio warnings if the battery is not turned on. I have also charged it multiple times, but no change. It doesn't seem like a power issue as if I pick it up and angle it, the joints move in response to maintain balance..
