Actually, I am impressed by those of us who had difficulty installing the springs but nonetheless came up with so many different andi nteresting solutions which worked.for us. In spite of the difficulty, I'm glad that I had to work through that challenge - that's the point of getting the kit rather than the assembled Bittle, right?

If this video is showing your Bittle in the calbration (or zerio) state before it starts to walk, then definitely your calibrations are way off - not even close. As noted by John, the upper front leg is too far back, and the upper back leg is so far forward that I don't think you can even calibrate it properly without removing and repositioning it and then calibrating. Make sure to watch the assembly video and read the manua,l especially the parts that deal with putting on the legs and calibrating them.

Yes indeed. That's why I said to narrow the 'short' tab.

Narrow the servo arm tab that receives the spring! I noticed that just putting a spring over that short servo tab with nothing assembled the fit is very snug - very little play. After having tried many of the other suggestions with no success but lots of sore fingers I decided to try before assembly, shaving a bit off the servo arm tab that receives the spring (the short tab/side of the servo arm) until the spring would slide EASILY onto it. This made all the difference in the world for me and made pushing the spring into place with my fingers quick and easy. I suspect that would help all alternative methods/tools as well.

@Len Thanks for the quick response. #3- As I understand it, 4 more servos for the shoulder roll would total 15, not 12 yes? - poor Nybble with no head or tail - haha. #4 - Wonderful news indeed. As a newbie I have been franticly cramming Arduino tutorials into my old brain for weeks but I still can't even begin to make sense of 99.99% of the code.

Wow! - so exciting! Please excuse some newbie questions - Is this still an arduino-based board? Will the increased capability elimante the need/advantage of adding a Pi? Will it support the 4 more shoulder roll servos not presently included with Nybble and if so will those additional servos be part of future Nybble kits? Will the current software have to be rewritten to work on this board? Thanks.

I am not sure which piece you mean by "middle head piece" but it if is the one which accepts the head servo then that is the piece that I broke over the course of several iterations of taking apart and putting back together the head for various reasons. It broke in that notched area where the servo wire passes through. In my case I found that the servo mount screws held that part together just fine, although I did think about using a piece of the scrap board material as a splice which is something you could try as well. And I just saw that Rz has sent you the file to 3D print the part - sounds like you have a 3D printer and that seems like a good and fun fix.

Hi Muhammed. In calibration position your lower leg (toe) pieces are not attached in the correct orientations. First of all, the back two should have the staight side of the toe section facing upwards - you have the curved parts facing upwards. More signficantly, the front two two sections are facing/pointing back and they should be pointing forward (again with straight side facing upwards). I believe you can fix the front right toe orientation (that is the only one that I can see) by merely taking it off the upper leg and rotating it 180 degrees and reattaching. That should result in it correctly pointing forwards with the straight side up. I am including a picture of mine in calibration position for reference. Oh, and those extra wires and wire nut etc. you see is due to my starting to experiment with adding a on-off switch to be placed on the upper part of my Nybble instead of using that battery lever underneath. Exciting news!

I am curious about this very limited program storage space issue I keep seeing referred to in various posts, docs etc. Please excuse this question as I am a total newbie at this stuff and having somehow managed to actually get the Nybble assembled and basically working am, like yourself, wanting to get into the programming side. So my question is why is there so little storage capacity? I believe that there are Arduino boards available with signifcantly more storage space - maybe they are too big, require too much power? I am also curious about how much capability is possible with adding a Pi like you mentioned including more space for program code.

Hi Martin (& Son). I also am a ttotal newbie at this stuff and just got my Nybble basically assembled and working, (seems like a miracle!) and now I too want to get into programming to be able to create new skills, modify existing ones, link some skills together into a little routine etc. Like yourself, I would have greatly appreaciated a programming tutorial for newbies on this forum specific to the Nybble but there isn't one. The good news, though, is that the Nybble is Arduino based, and there are lots of good Arduino tutorials out there including on youtube.
