with the new bittle/nybble battery wireless charging should be possible with our little robo-pets.
there are compatible usb receiver pads for mobile phones that should be capable of charging the battery and lots of compatible charging bases. then all you need is some code to monitor the battery and trigger a script to send your pet to its charging station, you would need to use some sort of locator beacon at the base station.
oh well maybe next time. i hope a future v2 of the battery will have Qi wireless charge function as well as its current usb charge method
One problem is that the battery pack is designed to shut down when charging. So Bittle won't get up after being charged.
