Hi,
I started assembling nybble a few days ago, and arrived at the stage where I have to wire everything, I don't feel sure at all what goes where.
I have the body assembled, now how am I supposed to mount the nyboard to it and connect the battery holder to the nyboard? There is nothing about it in the assembly instructions, and in video #3 Rongzhong said the next video would be about that, but there is none unfortunately. Also, most pictures I see in posts or the instructions are for version 1 of nyboard, and the version 2 feels so different I have no idea what goes where anymore. Could we get pictures of wiring with the version 2?
About the infrared sensor, where exactly do the wires from it connect to the nyboard version 2? The manual for it is very dry and I don't really get it.
Another question, I'm gonna start by just nyboard, but at some point I want to use a Pi as well. What modifications should I do for it to work in the future?
Also, what is the round panasonic battery used for? I feel like if Petoi could include that battery, maybe they could have the 14500 batteries which seem so hard to find the right ones? ^^
Thanks in advance for your answers!
Florian
Thank you for your answers, I'll try that today :)
The green piece in this video is the NyBoard, https://youtu.be/B8N2KAf8p28?list=PLHMFXft_rV6MJ-BhDN-O5I_u4YeAie30n&t=40
The 6-pin uploader is installed towards the tail side.
Battery holder is attached to belly pieces. The wires are inserted into the green power terminal. Pay attention to the polarity of the wires. Red is positive and black is negative. Maker sure you see the corresponding signs:
+ -
on NyBoard.
Bend the pins of ultrasonic sensor for later installation. Check section 3.1.4 for more details.
How am I supposed to mount the nyboard to it and connect the battery holder to the nyboard?
It should be mounted on top of y1 pieces.
The version 2 feels so different I have no idea what goes where anymore. Could we get pictures of wiring with the version 2?
The order of wiring for version 2 is identical to version 1.
About the infrared sensor, where exactly do the wires from it connect to the nyboard version 2?
I don't quite get your question. Infrared sensor is already connected to the board through 3 pin legs. Do you mean the ultrasonic sensor as eyes?
Another question, I'm gonna start by just nyboard, but at some point I want to use a Pi as well. What modifications should I do for it to work in the future?
You will need to use y1Pi instead of y1 pieces. The 6 pin FTDI socket should be bent in an opposite direction. Check the side by side animation, or the body assembly section in the instruction.
Also, what is the round panasonic battery used for?
The sound battery is for the IR remote. Larger batteries like 14500 used for the cat's motion has too many safety regulations in transportation so I'm not including them in the kit.
Hi Florian
I had a similar feeling, but I was able to piece together how the Nyboard v0.2 is to be cabled (with Rongzhong's help). I put together a single page with the servo locations, the Nyboard v0.2 pin number to servo number wiring (top, left and right views) and a labeling system I used (plus picture of labels).
